The Adventurer's Club is closing :-(

Pleasure Island, originally uploaded by jeremiah_good.

The Adventure's Club (along with the rest of Pleasure Island in Disney World) is closing :-( This is one of my favorite places in Disney World! There is no chance that I will get back there before the September 27th closing date.

The worst CAPTCHA ever

This CAPTCHA system is called "Please, for the love of god, I don't want any comments!"

Why, you'd almost need some sort of computer to make sense of this...

Is your ketchup making you gay?

Answer: probably not. Its your mayonnaise that's making you gay (disclaimer: sarcasm may not be evident to all readers).

I can't believe some of the people that called in to CNN yesterday that were terrified of explaining to their children as to why two men were kissing in a condiment commercial. Hey, they're going to find out sooner or later. If I were you and I had your backwards mindset, I'd be more terrified of the people from whom they eventually will learn about it.

The Convenient Collada

Captain Morgan's Parrot Bay Coconut Rum
Dole Pineapple Juice
Splash of Orange Juice
Ice cubes

No need here for that gelatinous substance known as coconut cream.

Stan Winston: (April 7, 1946 – June 15, 2008)

Special effects master Stan Winston passed away yesterday. He is one of those people how made me want to make moving pictures (which I don't, but that's not the point). I spent many hours watching shows about movie special effects on the Discovery channel (from a time when they were just beginning to use computers for FX and cable only had 34 channels). Non-computer generated effects by people like Stan Winston will always have a place in my heart (he also had a digital effects studio).

The Minute Margarita

The Minute Margarita

Minute Maid Limeade
Tequila
Pinch of sea salt
Fresh lime wedge, squeezed then dropped in
Ice cubes

When I buy margarita mix, other people drink it before I have a chance to. So I found that Minute Maid Limeade make a good substitute (but tastes terrible on its own).

Today I found this cool book from 1922 with a section on how to lay out and draw acanthus leaves.

Harborfest Hike

Yesterday we hiked 3.3 miles over hill and dale in Port Washington. It was Harborfest. We parked pretty far away. We wanted to go on a harbor tour but the people giving the tour were not very organized or informative. We didn't know we had to sign up. They should have an official website for next years 'fest with more information on it. We also hiked down Central Drive and back up again. Here is a map of our days walk:
